Since Ben's wife walked out, he has struggled to keep life as normal as possible for his four children, 8- and 14-year-old sons and 12- and 17-year-old daughters.
Ben's diabetes has become so severe he's been unable to work. He has applied for disability, which should be a great help once he's approved, but the wait for approval could be a long one. The family was homeless for a little over a month before being able to move into a small trailer. They have no beds, and have been sleeping on the floor.
